Matching Gifts

Matching gift benefits can double, sometimes triple, the impact of your donation.

If your employer offers matching gifts, request a matching gift form from your employer’s human resources (HR). (Matching gift policies may include retirees, employee spouses, board members and officers, so inquire about eligibility.)

If your employer requests a tax identification number (TIN), please use Masjid Al Farooq’s Federal TIN: 56-2437817.

Send the completed and signed matching gift form to contactus@mafchicago.com, typing “Matching Gift” in the subject line.

Give Real Estate

Giving real estate can result in significant benefits including a charitable deduction based on the current fair market value of your property (i.e., reduced taxes) and a reduction in the size and complexity of your estate.

Because a gift of real estate will be sold as soon as practicable after it is gifted (unless it can be used by Masjid Al Farooq), the real estate must be free of debt and marketable.

Since giving real estate requires careful planning, including detailed information about the property, send us an e-mail at contactus@mafchicago.com, typing “Real Estate” in the subject line, to start the process.

Give Retirement Plan Assets

A large percentage of wealth in retirement plan accounts, such as a 401(k) plan or IRA, is lost to tax if the account is left to someone other than a spouse upon the account owner’s death; however, using these assets for charitable gifts at death can be tax advantageous (and rewarding in the Hereafter).

Simply (1) name Masjid Al Farooq, a tax exempt organization, as a beneficiary of part or all of your retirement plan account by requesting a form from your plan’s custodian and (2) notify us by sending an e-mail to contactus@mafchicago.com, typing “Beneficiary” in the subject line.

Please consult your legal and tax advisers for additional information on giving retirement plan assets.

Bequests

You can include Masjid Al Farooq in your legacy by providing a gift of cash, securities, real estate or other assets in your will.

Simply (1) name Masjid Al Farooq in your will, using the bequest language below, and (2) notify us by sending an e-mail to contactus@mafchicago.com, typing “Bequest” in the subject line.

“I give [describe dollar amount or property to be given] to Masjid Al Farooq, an Illinois not-for-profit corporation, to be used for its religious, charitable and educational purposes.”

Please consult your financial planner and legal adviser for additional information on communicating your wishes.
